12-Week Dental Assisting & EFDA Program
Comprehensive, accelerated dental assisting and expanded functions training completed in 12 weeks. Classes meet Saturdays from 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM in a real dental office training environment.
Students receive hands-on experience in clinical assisting, restorative procedures, radiology preparation, impressions and lab techniques, temporary crown fabrication, front and back office cross-training, and expanded functions skill development. The program also includes externship preparation, resume and interview guidance, and structured competency evaluations aligned with Florida standards.

Advanced Dental Assisting Academy offers a comprehensive 12-week accelerated Dental Assisting and Expanded Functions training program. How long is the dental assisting program at your academy?
12-Week Program Overview
Week 1 – Orientation & Foundations
Students are introduced to the dental field, operatory setup, infection control standards, OSHA compliance, and dental anatomy. Expectations for classroom learning and externship preparation are discussed.
Week 2 – Charting & Patient Care Basics
Focus on dental charting, head and neck anatomy review, patient intake procedures, and assisting during exams. Emphasis is placed on professionalism and proper documentation.
Week 3 – Preventive & Restorative Dentistry
Introduction to restorative materials, sealants, and assisting with composite and amalgam procedures. Students begin hands-on practice with instruments and clinical techniques.
Week 4 – Front Office & Career Readiness
Training in administrative skills, ADA coding, insurance basics, HIPAA compliance, and professional development including resume and interview preparation.
Week 5 – Fixed Prosthodontics & Restorative Techniques
Students assist with crowns, bridges, veneers, and provisional restorations, including temporary crown fabrication and digital impression introduction.
Week 6 – Lab Procedures & Oral Surgery Assisting
Hands-on experience with impressions, model pouring, removable appliances, implant basics, and oral surgery instrument identification.
Week 7 – Orthodontics & Midterm Evaluation
Introduction to orthodontic assisting concepts and continued skill development. Midterm exam administered to assess competency.
Week 8 – Dental Radiology
Radiology fundamentals including safety, positioning, and equipment operation, along with continued clinical skills reinforcement.
Week 9 – Endodontics & Clinical Skill Development
Introduction to root canal procedures, rubber dam placement, and advanced charting practice to prepare for externship readiness.
Week 10 – Clinical Readiness & Emergency Training
Vital signs, nitrous monitoring, and emergency response procedures are covered. CPR/BLS certification is completed under American Heart Association guidelines.
Week 11 – Final Exams & Externship Preparation
Students complete final written and practical evaluations and prepare documentation for externship placement.
Week 12 – Graduation & Transition to Practice
Program completion, graduation ceremony, and guidance on employment transition and continuing education opportunities.

Financial Information & Funding Options
Advanced Dental Assisting Academy is committed to providing transparent and flexible financial options for our students. The total tuition for the 12-week Dental Assisting and Expanded Functions program is $5,500, with a $150 non-refundable registration fee required to secure enrollment. ADAA offers multiple payment plan options, including full payment, installment plans, weekly or biweekly payment arrangements, and 50/50 split options. Tuition must be paid in full prior to issuance of the EFDA certificate and final transcript. Refunds are issued according to the official ADAA Refund Policy and are based on the student’s date of withdrawal. Students may qualify for financial assistance through a variety of external funding sources. ADAA accepts employer sponsorship, private or family sponsorship, and workforce-based funding programs such as CareerSource Florida (WIOA) and other approved grant programs. All third-party sponsorship documentation must be submitted prior to the first day of class, and students remain responsible for any remaining tuition balance not covered by outside funding. ADAA is actively working to expand financial aid access for students. Federal financial aid participation (Title IV programs such as Pell Grants and Direct Student Loans) requires institutional licensure, accreditation, and approval by the U.S. Department of Education. As the academy progresses through required approval steps, eligible students may explore federal, state, and private financing options in accordance with institutional policies. Students receiving any form of financial assistance must maintain satisfactory academic progress, including minimum GPA and course completion standards, in order to remain eligible for continued funding. ADAA encourages students to meet with the admissions or financial officer to review available funding pathways and determine the best financial plan for their individual situation.
